Chanteuse

So sultry voiced the singer
The chanteuse up on the stage
Get drawn in like a good book
I’m forced to turn the page

Her songs so tell a story
They’re compelling and quite grand
I find myself transported
Oft to a magic land

Each tune is so enchanting
Its melody fills the space
On stage she is a lioness
Yet prowls with style and grace

I regret each song’s ending
My pleasure it does not last
I’m forced to wait another
A standard from the past
