Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

We met at midnight
where the sparkling lights
looped ‘round sparse winter trees

reflecting love
in the moonlight
melting
on the lake

a new resolve
exploring deep within
the sound of a crisp reindeer bell
ringing in
the dawn

of a new unhurried Christmas
tradition
