Contagion
written by: Christine Bolton
It came from
somewhere
Unexpected
and remote
Invisible
to the eye
Moving quickly
Globally
Devastating
all in its path
Leaving bodies
breathless
Helpless
Those it could
not reach
left vulnerable
and ostracized
Living
in solitude
Collaboration
impossible
Stripped of
dignity
and left
inevitably
penniless
Who is
to blame?
A lesson
too late
for the
learning
