Dollar Tree

Dollar Tree

Underneath the dollar tree
I sold you and you sold me
We were never, ever free
Underneath the dollar tree

I fixed you and you fixed me
Kisses twisted in the wind
We would never love again
I withdrew a bit too soon
Underneath the harvest moon

Do you remember Reuben James
And do you dare to say his name?

Underneath the dollar tree
All our senses flowed so free
You were honey to a bee
Underneath the credit tree

Underneath the dollar tree
You gave me a jubilee
I gave you a mystic collar
We both made a million dollars

All our dreams of luxury
Floated on the evening breeze
Then I sold you and you sold me
Underneath the dollar tree
