Endless Beach

Endless Beach

written by: Brooke DiGiovanni

I witness soft grains of sand glimmering,
once clusters of colorful shells, careless,
inevitably aged by tides, sinking.

My mind sharp, though my body wrinkling,
pondering the allure of timelessness.
I witness soft grains of sand glimmering,

a longful haze, these memories aching,
but memories I lived to reminisce,
inevitably aged by tides, sinking.

Faces, places, names flooding, dwindling,
and I’m thankful rather than in distress.
I witness soft grains of sand glimmering,

each day, an experience, a blessing.
My heart in thought for those who were given less,
inevitably aged by tides, sinking.

The sea greets the shore once again, crashing,
shifting shells and sand with belovedness.
I witness soft grains of sand glimmering,
inevitably aged by tides, sinking.
