Fugly

written by: Susan Glamuzina

today I wear old black tights
covered in paint and clay
my comfy jelly shoes
the peach wool pilled
my old ¾ length cardi
hides the stains on my over sized tee
hair pulled into a messy low bun
don’t care cause no one will see me

tomorrow I will squeeze my rolls into my jeans
shapewear disguising the unwanted lumps and bumps
under my blinged labeled top
high heels shaping my legs
I will brush my hair and face the world
laying on the gold and makeup

but today I am just me
