Halloween, a poem by Gregory Spis at Spillwords.com

Halloween

Halloween

written by: Gregory Spis

In the nooks and crannies of children’s fancy lies,
not only in November,
there’s always a ghost coming as no surprise!
Often with the flaunting devil, the pretender!
Some ghoul, a spooky revenant!
Awesome fun lurks
in our offspring mind!
But some of us, adult quirks
forgot about the witchcraft grind …
The childish tricks’ recall, that’s a long-gone spree.
Over and done about pouring hot wax through the key!
Even here in the cultural jiggery-pokery
we do have fun with Halloween glee!
Although in our country it’s nothing but a mockery,
where a debilligent sky pilot, a pseudo saint
tries to brainwash the nation with his cleric-tosh.
But children don’t care about propaganda bosh!
Luckily, there are always poets with our youngsters!
Because Halloween is fun for all pranksters!
