I Will Be Okay

she stared in the mirror and smiled,
a look of pure joy,
she had started to love herself,
without the help of a boy
she knew this was it,
this is where she belonged,
she had grown to be independent,
she had grown to be strong
she smiled a little longer,
then started to say,
“i am all i need,
i will be ok”
from then on,
she lived her life for her,
she was finally happy,
and things would never again be how they were
I’m 15 and ever since I was 12 I’ve loved using poetry as an outlet to express my feelings and emotions. Robert Frost is my favorite poet and he’s who made me really get into poetry. I would love nothing more than for others to read my poems and for once feel like their life has meaning and someone understands.
