It is imagined as rhythm.
It is the beat of your life,
That marks your days.
If paradise is imagined,
It is imagined as music.
It is the background score,
That gives color and depth.
If paradise is imagined,
It is imagined as dance.
It is the movement and the partners,
That connect you to the world.
If paradise is imagined,
It is imagined as a voice.
It is the brash statement ‘You exist’
That says you are alive.
If paradise is imagined.
It is you that will imagine it.
Mike Kanner has taken a long road to becoming an author. He has been a career officer and a university lecturer. He has successfully published short stories in several genres before settling on historical fiction, focusing especially on the World War I period. He has several current projects, including a gothic novella and a novel about female munitions workers. When not writing, he enjoys biking and hiking in Colorado.
