Love

I mostly look at life through blurry eyes
Relying on my wit keeping my true self a disguise.
I say I love you hoping that’s enough
When in reality opening my soul is extremely tough.
I see your beautiful face every time I close my eyes
It lifts my darkness into sunlit skies.
I was so comfortable in darkness then you came along.
Now I’m surrounded by sunlight without a care in the world cause nothing is wrong.
I will live forever through trouble and strife.
I will love you every minute for the rest of my life.
I'm a 50 year old father of 6 boys and a husband to a amazing wife. I live in West Portsmouth Ohio. I enjoy reading poetry and writing how I feel down into poetic form. So that I can let go of whatever is troubling me.
