Is this agony?
written by: Regina Crowley
Is this agony?
Do my bones ache in vain?
I feel its eyes through mine
Burning me cold
Holding me down with its molten lead
Is this agony?
My heart throbs to the hoove’s beat
Drones and sirens sound within my heart
My soul is a strobe light to harrowing confusion
Is this agony?
I wade into the waters of the deep
My misery foams about my ankles
As I walk side by side with death
The trauma marks my every step
Is this agony?
I vainly try to bury the loneliness
The suffering lies naked against the wall of my heart
Lifting its hands to the dying stars
As I hold on to the emasculating emptiness
Is this agony?
Is THIS agony?

I haven't been writing poetry for very long, but I really enjoy it. But my book-club friends have been encouraging me to get out of my comfort zone and send my stuff out there. Hope you enjoy!
