Just Another Christmas

Just Another Christmas

The noonday sun is fast revealing
Melting icicles falling downward
Shattering all those perfect moments
Piercing all our misconceptions

Winter chill is all perspective
When in love your free to frolic
Hand in Hand resisting frostbite
Shoveling snow in drifts of whimsy

Not a bother if your freezing
Every day is Christmas morning
Hearts of fire unleashing passion
Warms your body like hot kisses

But when love turns the warmth will leave you
Out of touch and cold in summer
Under covers indecisive
Longing for your distant lover

Trapped inside a Christmas nightmare
A blizzard of regrets has caught you
Piles of fresh pain for your notebook
One more day to feed the monster

And so it’s just another Christmas
Some time off from your work with pay
But your task is never ending
Spilling ink like black snow falling

On white pages stained with heartbreak
Black Ice falling from the heavens
Crystal spears to pierce the silence
Shatter all those perfect moments
