“I love you” you said, in the sunsets last rays.
My answer: “we can’t say that in so many days!
Day after day, year after year,
it might loose its meaning when that’s all that one hear “
That didn’t stop you, even though I was dumb.
Kept saying “I love you” if I laughed or was numb.
Now I can’t hear you, I focus I listen and try.
That hurts like daggers, but I can’t even cry.
One thing I’ve learned: you were right all along,
saying “I love you” can never be wrong.
