Mad Chatter

Mad Chatter

written by: Gail Constable

So many words to read,
To write, too little
Time in daylight, I
Prefer the dark of
Night, heavy lidded
Eyes, no sleep, my
Body hurts…

And then I hear you
Calling, crows waking,
Making plans for their
Day, gulls join as the
Tides arrive with hope
Of scraps to eat,
Morning music…

Daylight creeps in the
Crack of the drapes
But what day is it,
Insomnia leads to
Insanity, think I’ll
Go outside and chat
With crows…
