Memories in Blue

Memories in Blue

written by: John Knight

I remember petrichor, the smell of earth after the rain.
I remember the leaf, high in the sky, riding the winds.
I remember the madman in his tuxedo and top hat.
I remember the lightning slicing through the night.
I remember people who aren’t with us anymore.
I remember stories that have never been told.
I remember the war that scorched the land.
I remember the thundering of the drums.
I remember the long-forgotten gods.
I remember the pond in the woods.
I remember the baby’s first cry.
I remember the stone angels.
I remember how we ran.
