Mind

Mind is tender:
If you give it a flower,
It will smell
If you give it a gun,
It will shoot
Youth is raw and pure
Give it words to express pain
Before it becomes anger
And holds a weapon
Destroying its own kith and kin
That would leave no one happy
Not the weapon, not the shooter,
Not the victim:
Minds are tender
Give them power to express
Disarm them
From fear
And from objects that cause fear,
Pain, hatred, and death.
