Musings on the Countryside
written by: Vidya Venkataramanan
Stopping by
A gentle cliff,
to smell the flowers,
That raced
Over hills and dales,
I climb up and down,
Over endless stretches
Of mountains,
Searching for that eternal something!
Ups and downs,
Mirroring life,
Whirlpooling
In desires,
Trapped in
The mind,
I search for
The Divine,
In the dark corridors
Of thoughts,
Feelings
And emotions,
Unable to navigate the maze!
Inhaling the outside world,
Ended in a word!
Disappointed,
Disillusioned!
Ended up
Seeking Grace
To fill the space,
The emptiness
That stretched
Into illusions!!
Looking inward,
I rewind,
Into shadows
And inexplicable
Terrain,
Where fears
And tears
Rush to the fore,
Having been
Suppressed
Since before!!
As layers peeled,
A fragrance swirled,
Around a forgotten
Divinity,
The annihilation of
The small self began,
Unearthing the Self,
That was hidden
Within!
No beginnings
No endings,
Nothing
And nowhere to go,
Just Being!
Phew!
