Orange Yuletide
written by: Tanya Adèle Koehnke
Old pomander
dangles from an evergreen branch
rumpled velvet ribbon frayed
faded cranberry red.
Perfect orange pierced with cloves
shrunken shrivelled
sweet fragrance of citrus and spice
scent of must and Christmas past.
Handcrafted ornament
renews Yuletide
glows in dusty orange tree light
perfumes atmosphere of yesteryear.
