There is sunlight in the corners
and dust in the veins
while
correspondence between name
and thing frays
and cannot carry the message.
I cannot teach the stars how to burn
or how to die
I cannot teach name and thing to reconcile
so abandon your memories
and walk into the new future

Angelo J. Letizia is a professor of education at a small university in Baltimore Maryland where he teaches the history of education, citizenship education, and leadership courses. Letizia has also published numerous poems in such outlets as Bewildering Stories, AHF Speculative Fiction, Tales from the Moonlit Path, The Atlantean and Bowery Gothic to name a few. He has also created a graphic novel called Toward the Real. His art is published or is forthcoming in The Comics Grid Journal and the International Journal of Comic Art. He lives in Northern Maryland with his wife and three children.
