Quilting Bee

written by: Jaya Avendel

A gaping hole of
Dreams and morals
Lies between us
Sewn into place by actions
Words tried to undo
And failed.
A siren sings
As misunderstood
As we perceive each other
Until we look up and find ourselves
At opposite ends of a torn quilt.
