Rainbow you are compelled to show your Highlights
You only appear at exceptional times
You are seen throughout the World
You hang out over the lands, mountains and waters with your arc
You are often seen after rain
When you appear through the clouds
You are full of color glowing with boldness
You are magnificent and radiant
You out stage the blue skies and sun
But you work so awesomely together
You are beautiful
You are unique
You are Peaceful
I see you Rainbow smiling at me

Marie Johnson-Ladson is a writer of fiction and non-fiction, of Free Verse, Poetry & Short Stories. She lives in the United States. Marie has been published in Agape Review, BenSpeaks, IWWG (International Women's Writing Guild) - Network Newsletters - "Our Stories, Ourselves: Narratives from Black Women In Africa and America February 2021," "Women Writing History in a Global Pandemic July 2021," and "IWWG Network Fall 2022" and The Teaneck Public Library Archives.
