Silence Lets Delusion Rule

“We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” – Elie Wiesel

A solitary nightingale in a forest cries,
“for what purpose was I created?
no one hears me sing,
save drunks, prophets, and poets,
for while the world sleeps,
they, and I are awake,
none sees, or hears them,
or me, during the day.”

Consternation, suspicion, and fear
with whispers of hate has grabbed minds,
the responsibility of love of humanity
some have chosen to abdicate,
God’s unconditional love abrogate,
and arrogate it in arrogance to themselves.

If today you must choose a side.
for we are enjoined by these words
“to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed,
so that man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.” Psalm 10:18
In Germany, six million Jews were killed,
because many failed to uphold the love
that they received freely, which translates as
Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.

Let not your silence, be the silence
of an innocent conjecturing bystander,
for the one who was saved wrote,
“We must always take sides.
Neutrality helps the oppressor,
never the victim.
Silence encourages the tormentor,
never the tormented.” – Elie Wiesel

Speak for the voiceless,
speak against injustice,
speak against hatred,
speak against those who stifle dreams,
refuse to see another’s humanity,
these gifts we are given at birth,
and none chose who they are,
or who they will be at birth,
one born in the stables of penury,
will grow up to be a mule or, wild ass,
and but for the grace of God,
so will the one with a racing pedigree,
so, if you can, love unconditionally
for our souls, will be weighed
with our thoughts, words, and actions,
with the love, we were given freely,
with the love we withheld,
and the love that we shared.
