Sunniva

written by: Marcus

The sun came out to greet the day—
We inhaled its aroma of warm light.
Darkness gave way to an array of piquancy.
Today… we are free.

She climbed the sky in due time—
We danced in green meadows of forgotten moonlight.
The wolves retreated; their god has hidden.
Forget the night, live for today.

Basking in the golden shadow, we forgot the hours.
The day was drawing to an end.
We cried as gravity dragged our companion to the horizon.
All that lives must die.

Pleasure soon replaced pain as the moon illuminated.
We were reminded we would see our friend again.
