Tales Of A Dreamer

written by: David Adejumo

“Life is in phases,
And men are in levels”
You must conquer your own devils
To ascend the top
Of this ladder of life……….

I thought life was meant
To be a rosy ride
To wonderland,
And every man ascends at his
Own altitude,
Oh I weep
When I see brothers
Who sold their souls
To lose it after all……………..
I have seen brothers
Who back-stabbed
Their fellow brothers
All for money…………….
I have seen families torn apart
By the difficulties of life………..

An old man told me that;
“Life is deep,
And men love to bask
In the comforts of shallow waters”
I have seen Nations
At war
And countries divided
By mindless vices………….

Oh I wish
I can fulfill the dreams
Of my father
In this desolate quest of mine
In the tempest of this world………………….
Oh I wish I can
Live my dreams in this
Ocean of troubled waters
But life itself
Is a journey
Across the fast lane,
Without pains,
You can never gain………………….

I believe dreams come true,
Life and nature
Have their own timing………………..
I have seen Giants
Who men regarded as nothing,
Rising to the peak
Of the mountaintop………….
I have seen Men born into penury
Rising to feed nations……………

Oh my soul!!!!!!
Do not give up
Too easily,
I have seen many men
Rising from rags to riches
In just a matter of time

Life teaches a lot of lessons,
I was born to captain my soul
Through the storms of life………………..

I have seen Lions
Emerge out of this jungle
A wise man told me;
“No star,
without a scar”
Hold on
Because you will overcome………………………
