The Eternal in the Transient

The Eternal in the Transient

written by: Veljko Kotlaja

We no longer suffer for scattered money or decades,
nor for the recognition of others.
Only the memory of our former goodness
hurts more than anything else.
Our freedom is our guilt.
We watch the herd and call laziness an absence of greed,
masking our misfortune by mimicking the lamb.
But when all the cages burst,
at the zenith of evil, we find the door of home.
We accept the unimaginable energy
and give it the direction of our spirit.
Destruction and salvation are the only natures of man.
Passivity, the echo of death, vanishes
in the vast possibilities of the eternal in the transient.
Behold, the beasts are subjected to the child,
the weakest being of all worlds.
Therefore, wake up, there will be no light,
for you are the light.
Burning with every breath is our true nature.
The thicker the fog, the more the fire
will surpass every projection of reason.
I hear the sighs and see the man
who has found the only meaning.
