The Magnificent Tree of Life

The Magnificent Tree of Life

written by: Kelly Doheney

With roots deep below the surface,
a firm foundation of innocence is born.
With time and care, a new life unfurls
like the cherished memories of the firstborn,
Waterless, the soul of life dies.
And the core begins to rot.
Though with care and patience,
the colors mix from the lessons taught.
Branches take form in all different traits,
but they remain part of the core.
Some are weak, some are strong,
but together, the growth is free to soar.
It stands up tall with pride,
with flourishing leaves so bright.
The winds of life may be strong,
but the branches hold tight.
Tree of beauty, tree of scars.
It all makes up the whole.
With its magnificent center,
a strong life ignites the soul.
