The Pain of Water

The pain of water
The sadness of drought
The blame of fire
Betrayal of …

Sounds run wild, bouncing north and south
the world’s walls,
Dancing in canyons and valleys’ mouth
Strangely, a crave for sad songs
Strings my whole spine
Though chains, broken free
Left their pieces impressed upon the wrists
Bleeding blankness and distaste
Feet, kicking, nevertheless, for the wrong reasons
The fight stealing away
Mama
Africa, the dark skinned race
Like water is to life, my land should be
water to me bubbling and clean
