The Thrill of Living

We are born to conquer,
yet live to relinquish.
We earn day to day,
yet spend till we drop
We arrive to explore,
yet depart with baggage
We win unexpectedly,
yet lose without a fight
We revel in new beginnings,
yet gloom over trying exits
We pass one sui generis,
yet fail five times after
We rise to the occasion
Yet fall flat on our face
We live precariously
Yet die peacefully
I am very new to the world of poetry. I started writing poetry the Spring of 2018. I work in healthcare and live in Dallas, Texas in United States.
