The Xmas Dance

The Xmas Dance

written by: Jim Bellamy

A sleigh-bell rings, a candle glows,
The pudding steams, sweet carols rise
Children dreaming of stockinged gifts beneath the gyre of starlit brides.

Madam Father Xmas sniles to wide –
Her velvet coat a crimson vein –
She gasps for joy, the loves, midnights, and xmas never seems the same.

Madam Father Xmas with tinselled hounds
Ted festive souls with all good Christs,
Mummy kissing Santa Claws underneath a sycamore tree tonight.

A sleigh made of sweet mashed pillows roars thru the skies,
Pulled by rapt senses in peppermint elves, on stilts juggling baubles and bells,
Swinging carols with cinenatic yells.

The Moon wears a crown of paper rings in cross,
Her boots lead sparkles in mouthed gifts and reindeer tap-dance on hoofed thrills;
And, O, Madam Father Xmas curls for lace,

Her goose a roasting trimmed in bows, gifting laughter to wherever Heavens race…

The pudding explodes in a plate of spheres
Launching mince pies under yuletide statospheres,
Tinsellers underpear in delight, decking the brawls with discos and gold spice.

The sycamores hums a lullaby swoon, lit by orbits in cartoons;
And all the world, in festive trance, joins the outlandish Christmas dance.
