Two Willows

Two Willows

written by: Justine Engelbrecht

We were children playing under the warmth of a summer’s day
We were filled with a playful joy,
with only our dreams and sunsets of yesterday.
We were pillars standing together,

Two willows swaying side by side in the wind,
We were like seashells playing in the surf,
holding and skipping over the shadows.
Two hands held tight,

We still are dreaming of our tomorrow.
We will be forever children playing together under the warmth of a summer’s day.
