When Housewives Get “Real”

When Housewives Get “Real”

written by: Emalisa Rose

For us, it was “housewives” shows
when left, with not much to discuss
as even the slightest thing triggered.

We’d spent seven months of not talking,
then one night over wine by the willows
in our grandmother’s rose garden,
came the ringing of names we both knew –
Cynthia, Kyle, Giselle and Teresa

“the housewives”
the ladies who lunched
and who leisured, making us smile
giving us fodder for conversation
again

“baby steps,”….as they say
