Word Maturity
written by: Kenneth Vincent Walker
As words filled with
Helium tend to rise
Toward the slate sky
Then pop in midair
Upon lifting too high.
Purer words filled
With oxygen breathe
Life into the stagnant
Clouds hovering above
Our heads oh so proud.
Words at a premium must
Be gathered not lost
And disseminated across
The expanse yet not
Frivolously tossed in
Indifferent adolescents.
