Yes
written by: Shoshana Karbasi
All my life my mother sang songs to me
And said: “yes!”
She opened the windows and doors wide
And she said: “yes”
She moved in the rooms,
And sang her songs,
She threw pains into the well of forgiveness
And again said: “yes!”
Each day of my life I see worlds
Through my mother’s bright eyes:
Wonder, joy, and life’s beauty,
The heart’s windows and doors are always open.
And I say to this dizzying world
“Yes!!!”
“Yes!!!”
“Yes!!!”
