Dystopian
written by: James Phoenix
When I look at the world
I see those blind to the plight of man
Children being raised off of
Expiring attention spans
They hold the world in their hands
But whose world is it?
No more college aspirations
So it’s boot camps and prisons
Pop culture subscriptions
We pop ultra prescriptions
Netflix for the next fix
To which we all get addicted
There are no trees in the Amazon
It’s where products get traversed
Every week a new tragedy
And the product feels rehearsed
We are slaves to technology
And we gladly take the chains
Working our bodies like a horse
“The Man” gladly takes the reigns
They cut us down like barbers
And we gladly take the shave
Selling our souls for fucking pennies
And we gladly take the change.
