The Finest Rose

The Finest Rose

written by: Lorna Jackie Wilson

The mother is the finest rose that Father God bestowed. Oh, what an awesome charge — to teach, to guide, and mold. A caring hand, a loving heart, the instinct to protect. A lifestyle that is set apart to model and reflect. Always concerned for her family’s well-being. Nurturing, compassionate, and an advocate when needed. She is selfless when there’s lack and trusts for God’s provision. The family stays intact when faith drives her decisions. The mother often seeks to find what makes each child unique. She recognizes attributes so beautiful to see. Heart to heart and breast to breast, to carry heavy loads. Ear to hear within the nest, imparting all she knows. With empathy, she leans not to her own understanding. She’ll shoulder grief and injury, obstacles notwithstanding. Her beliefs are the garments adorning her home and life. A treasure trove of wisdom, clothed with divine insight. The mother is the finest rose; she delivers care with love. For every task, no recompense, compensates what she does. How has she impacted your life? What memories make you laugh? How has she influenced the journeys on your path? Diverse are the tasks, she administers with care. For family, she supplicates and lifts them up in prayer. She is much more than a mother. She’s a teacher, nurse, and friend. She sticks closer than a brother. She’s a counselor among men. So, as she gives without abandon, let us recognize her diligence. She is the matriarch of families, faithful, and resilient. Thank you for all you do and all that you provide. We cherish the gift within you that enriches all our lives.
