Sunset

Sunset

written by: Keith Maynard Jr

I remember the sun
It rises
Illuminating the day
Yet its fall
Shows a beauty hidden within

On the horizon
The hue is casted
It burns as if in pain
Reluctant to be thrown away
Watch it flicker in the wind

Its beauty knows no bounds
Yet its time has come
With outstretched arms
I demand it remain
But, it isn’t meant to be

Night has come
And my heart aches
For one more glimpse
Just one
For ol’ time sake
