Phoenix

Phoenix

written by: Akshita1776

Address all letters to the holes in my wings
And let them burn through them
Throw every knife you have
And let it cut through the barbed wire
I so carefully entwined against myself
Point all your guns at me
And empty all bullets
Curse me and taint me, call me crazy
Banish me from all the places I love
To some forlorn kingdom
Where darkness dwells and wolves howl
A melancholy echo surrounds
Lock me inside the graves of my mind
And let your words shoot to kill
Leave me alone with the monsters
That arose from somewhere within me
Train me to be all that can fight thee
And let me gain strength through you
And I shall rise as the Queen of Darkness
And bestow upon you, the grandest prize
For there wouldn’t be me
If there hadn’t been you
