A Solitary Walk

A Solitary Walk

written by: Johnch

What’s that line “grab your coat and hat”
To walk alone in wintry storm
Rain tapping the hat in pattering rhythm
Coat keeping time to winter’s melody
With an off the beat syncopation
Lifts the feet in subtle dance
With memories of “ Singing in the rain”
Lilting over reminiscences of love
Budding early, yet spring is beckoning
In the dark light of winter’s finale
As a smile lights the face in contented glow.
