Isolation

Isolation

written by: Stephen Ferrett

A place where I feel safe, a place I feel scared, a place of near perfection and yet a place of distressed isolation

My mind
Days where I can escape this maddening world, feel the warmth, solace, and safety of my soul

Days where I am dragged into darkness, no escaping personal isolation, surrounded by the unknown

My Mind
I flip a coin
It lands heads, open, free, embracing, I’ll let you in, welcome one and all
It lands tails,

Closed, imprisoned, rejection, social isolation, stay away, leave me alone
I find places where the coin always lands on heads
The beach, the forest, my cottage, warmth of friends and my dearest

My journey, my search for cerebral peace, never ending
Flip the coin of my existence and pray, every day, it lands on heads.
