A Certain Perfume

A Certain Perfume

written by: Mary Bone

I use a certain perfume
that takes me back to my childhood days.
As I sat in an elderly lady’s flower garden,
I inhaled the wonderful aroma around me.
The lady had lavender and lilies,
lilac bushes, the list goes on.
I felt like a bee or a hummingbird
flitting from flower to flower.
If I could only go back and pick
a lovely bouquet,
I knew she wouldn’t mind.
She always said that’s what flowers are for.
