Totter and Stumble

Totter and Stumble

written by: Giovanni Fruncillo

Old man tottering across the parking lot,
stumbling, losing his balance,
lets go of his shopping cart, drops his cane,
as the cart crashes into the back of his minivan.

In an instant,
the ravages of time are
magnified in the mundane
parking lot of a Shop-Rite.

Soon we shall all
totter and stumble,
lose our balance,
and fall.
