You Don’t Know

You Don’t Know

written by: Nilavro Nill

With those two eyes
Breathing new horizons
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the wings
Of the seagulls
Hovering on and on
From time immemorial;
You keep me engaged
Days and nights in love

With your little steps
Paving new hopes
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the dreams
Of the sailors
Rowing on and on
Discovering new found lands;
You keep me engaged
Days and nights in love

With your fervent smiles
Whenever you flash selfies
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the sunrise
Of new dawns
Dissolving all around
The nights and darkness;
You keep me engaged
Days and nights in love

With my lines and curves
Working on my canvas
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the pangs of
The forlorn rivers
Circling on and on
Waiting for weary Travellers;
My lines and curves dissolve
In voids days and nights

With my long strides
Covering time and space
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the histories of
Age old human tragedies
Playing on and on
Around beliefs and betrayals;
Long and weary strides crumble
In fatigues days and nights

With my solitary times
Listening only to silent heartbeats
You don’t know
Need not have to know
As if just like the eternity
Of the outer space
Lamenting on and on
Around own loneliness;
My heart beats around
Your silence days and nights
