Connections
written by: Bridie Murphy
A wink, a nod, a smile, a wave
Are all means of connection
The humble handshake’s often used
To communicate affection
We use a phone to call a friend
A card to send a greeting
A message can be shared online
To organise a meeting
Bridges connect countries
A hook links with an eye
Velcro comes in handy
When a child’s shoe you must tie
A hitch connects a trailer
An arrow needs a bow
Plugs fit into sockets
So electricity can flow
But, by far, the best connection
That I’ve been blessed to see
Is that look a grandchild gives you
Having climbed up on your knee!
