Love Through The Pane

She paces down her driveway
Today’s the twentieth day
Turns left at the first passage
Will go no other way
They’ll be waiting by the window
Expecting her to pass
Still wearing their pyjamas
And smiling through the glass
With no visiting permitted
They’ve found this other way
And this mutual agreement
Brings joy to both their days
A wave is shared A kiss is blown
And three hearts skip a beat
These gestures feed their craving
Till it’s safe for them to meet.

I am a retired teacher and photographer also. Having grown up a country girl I love spending time outdoors with my grandchildren, taking them to scenic places and sharing our beautiful natural surroundings with them. Nature and experiences shared with them inspire me to write.
