Debra Black is a former feature writer and news reporter with the Toronto Star, Canada’s largest newspaper. Over her 28 plus year career there she won a number of national awards for her journalism, including the National Newspaper Award. She also has won several awards for magazine writing prior to her working at the Star. Her most recent literary work has appeared on the websites Queen’s Mob Teahouse, Word City Literary Journal and Spillwords. She also has two collected works of poetry -- love, lust, existence and other ephemeral things and Words and Images, a visual and poetry project. In addition, she has read her poetry at a number of literary events at Toronto’s Theatre Centre, The Tail in the Junction and The Tartan Turban Secret Readings.
