Becoming Me

Becoming Me

written by: Lisa V

Baby steps.
That’s how it begins.

A baby falls trying to walk how many times a day?
And still
they rise.

But as adults? Our bodies get addicted to the familiar.
To comfort.
To playing small so others can feel big.

Becoming you—the real you?
It gets messy.
It gets hard.
It’s uncomfortable as hell because it’s new.

This isn’t all love and light.
It’s rage.
It’s grief.
It’s ripping off the mask you wore to survive.

No more hiding.
No more holding back.
No more choosing yourself last.

This…
is the becoming.

We throw around the word healing
but healing is learning.
It’s waking up to generational patterns.
It’s learning how to live with what you’ve been through—
without letting it define you.

When you learn, you grow.
When you grow, you heal.
And healing?
It’s not a one-time thing.
It’s a lifelong process.

Triggers will happen
even when you think you’re “healed.”
But the magic is in how you respond.
That’s where the power is.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about remembering who you were
before the world told you to forget.

It’s about falling in love
with yourself not the job,
not the title,
not the relationship.

Just you.
Choosing you.
Again and again
until the magic finds you.

And when it does?
You’ll realize…
It was always inside you.
