Black Dog Day

When you open the curtains and the sun don’t shine,
When they can see you are sad, but ask if you’re fine,
When they look in your eyes and see tears that won’t cry,
They are the days I want to die.
Today is going to be a black dog day,
When nothing will take the pain away,
When nothing in the world can make me smile,
I want to sit on my own and zone out for a while,
It’s a black dog day
When my friends try to call me, and I don’t want to say Hi,
When I don’t understand why I want to die,
When my head is all fuzzy and my mind is broken and cold
I look in the sky, and know I’ll never get old.

Nobody gets it, no one can see, they just see a smile on the outside of me,
They just see the jokes, and messing around,
They don’t see I want to be under the ground,
They don’t see the pain, the stress and the fear,
Of another day on this planet with nobody near,
They don’t feel the rush when I decide to go,
When I cut at my wrists and watch the blood flow,
When I slash at my ankles and the pain feels right,
When I go off to sleep hoping it’s my last night

I’m in a crowd of people with noise all around,
But invisible and silent, broken crying on the ground,
No one can see me as I cry out for help,
I’m lost, I’m depressed, and I’m being for death.
Then it will be over, and I’ll hurt no more,
No one will miss me, no void to ignore.
No one to blame for the stuff that I did,
For the people I hurt,
Now that I’m dead.
