His whisper was a flirt
enticed you to fall in the palm of his hand
addicted to this mind game
you tried to find flows from his eyes
and he observed your every move
advance or retreat
you calculated too much
and forgot your king
until he said
checkmate in triumph
You remembered what you had learnt
from an old saying
“A moment’s error can mean a sorrow afterwards”
