A warm loaf of bread
with dairy butter and sugar.
Fresh made coffee in mugs.
A joyful start of the day.
Watching classic movies.
The Wizard of Oz
followed by Hitchcock’s Psycho.
Eggnog with whipped cream
causing a drowsy coziness.
Oh, this cheerful mood
of embraced love.
Fondled by each other’s presence
time seems to stand still.
A replica of last year’s celebration.
I would be truly disappointed
if our next Christmas gathering
won’t be exactly the same.
