Christmas' Loving Light

written by: Linda M. Crate

christmas lights
glowing white,
snow falling on the pines;
golden bulbs dancing with the red
christmas is coming close
with promises of gifts and family
thoughts of friends
drawing nearer as the day
is set to arrive—
love comes in many forms
in the many hues
of seasons,
but in winter the biggest season
of this is Christmas;
gifts carefully considered and wrapped
beneath the tree
the thrill and anticipation
of knowing you were thought of
and the happiness of giving gifts that you'll
know they'll love—
christmas has so many different trimmings,
but the brightest shining bulb
is love.
